SoC is Bluetooth 5-ready to double bandwidth and increase range
Bluetooth 5 is due to be officially adopted by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). It introduces up to four times the range or twice the raw data bandwidth of Bluetooth 4.2 to increase opportunities for smart home, wearables, and IoT applications.
Reference design accelerates wearable heart rate module design
An optical heart rate module reference design from Maxim Integrated can be used in the development of heart rate and blood oxygen (SpO²) monitors. The MAXREFDES117# reference design includes open-source heart-rate/SpO² algorithm for quick prototyping, now available at Seeed Studio.
Scalable design platform encompasses hardware, firmware and IDE
At this year’s CES in Las Vegas next month, ON Semiconductor will debut a scalable design platform for next-generation wearable technology.
