Smiths Interconnect has employed its Joule 20 failsafe scrubbing contact technology in its Joule 20 test socket for peripheral IC testing. According to Smiths, the technology is responsible for increased throughput and reliable high-frequency testing.

InnovationLab and Evonik partner for printed rechargeable batteries
Printed electronics specialist, InnovationLab has partnered with chemical company, Evoknik to develop the fully printed, flexible, rechargeable, solid-state batteries. The batteries, which combine Evonik’s TAeTTOOz printable battery materials and InnovationLab’s high-speed printed electronics capability results in thin printed batteries that are more flexible, safer and more environmentally friendly than traditional metal-based batteries.
Wafer-level camera module reaches inside the brain
A wafer-level camera by OmniVision Technologies, is small enough to access the smallest parts of a human anatomy, including the brain, spinal and cardiac procedures. The high resolution camera is designed for single-use endoscopies.
Light-sensitive photodiode improves bio sensors for slim wearables
Featuring an increased photocurrent of 33 microA, the VEMD8081 is a high speed, silicon, PIN photocurrent from Vishay Intertechnology. It enables improved bio sensor performance for wearable devices.
