STMicroelectronics said it is now making gesture detection simpler and more affordable for mass-market applications with companion software for its VL53L5CX multi-zone ToF ranging sensor. The sensor, together with free engineering software, will enable touchless, gesture-based controls in simple, cost-conscious consumer and industrial applications.

Simplified design and double data transfer rate have been achieved with the third generation of HyperRAM, developed by Winbond Electronics and Infineon Technologies. The collaboration has produced the higher bandwidth HyperRAM 3.0.

Automotive audio amplifier combines HD sound with class-G efficiency
In class-G operation, the TDA7901 buck controller automatically optimises the voltage supplied to the bridge-tied load (BTL) power stage depending on the audio signal level. STMicroelectronics’ TDA7901 automotive amplifier integrates a buck controller for class-G power switching and supports high definition (HD) audio for audio and efficiency performance.
