Watch out for the ear buds from Huawei

A smartwatch with charging capability for ear buds has been introduced by Huawei. The Watch Buds looks like a conventional smartwatch but with a thicker bezel which is where the ear buds are stored and charged.

The watch features a metal frame with a round crown on the right side. A button at the base of the watch dial operates the display lid which conceals the two wireless ear buds. Combined battery life is up to three days.

The TWS ear buds are IP54 (splashproof). Ear buds control is via sensors which sense movement or touch on the outer ear.

The watch face is a 1.43 inch OLED with 466 x 466 resolution. The smartwatch can monitor heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and stress levels, and can run the TruSleep sleep management app.

The Huawei Watch Buds run HarmonyOS 3 which offers access to the Huawei app marketplace. It also supports contactless payments and social media and works with Huawei’s Sport Health app with more than 80 activities.

The Watch Buds are available in China from January 2023
