Silicon Labs’ Bluetooth low energy modules are stocked by Mouser Andy Pratt December 23, 2016 Comms / Bluetooth / Wireless, ICs & Semiconductors Claimed to be the smallest Bluetooth low energy SiPs available, the BGM121 and BGM123 Blue Gecko are based on Silicon Labs’ Blue Gecko wireless SoC. The SiP module with a built-in chip antenna is now available from Mouser Electronics. The Blue Gecko SiP modules provide all-in-one Bluetooth connectivity and feature an ARM Cortex-M4 processor with 256kbytes of flash, high-output Bluetooth power amplifier, high-efficiency on-board antenna, external antenna options, oscillators and passives, and a secure Bluetooth 4.2 stack. The BGM12x is in a package measuring 6.5 × 6.5mm. Modules are available with different transmit output power options, from 3dBm (BGM123) to 8dBm (BGM121), to support connected devices with varying range requirements. They are pre-certified for key global markets, which helps to minimise development costs and RF regulatory compliance efforts for developers. The modules are supported by the Blue Gecko Bluetooth Smart Module Wireless Starter Kit for BGM121 and BGM123 SiP modules and BGM111.
