Micro OLED displays can be used in industrial equipment

Micro and round OLED displays are now available from Midas Displays. According to the company, the new OLED displays have compact mechanical dimensions, exceptional brightness and contrast performance, and three different colour options.

The micro OLED displays can be used in a range of industrial equipment including hand-held, portable and wearable technology applications, as well as commercial, leisure and medical applications.

An array of formats and resolutions are available including portrait mode with 48 x 64 pixel resolution and module dimensions of 13.9 x 22.0 x 1.26mm, two landscape mode modules with 64 x 32 pixel and 64 x 48 pixel resolution, and module dimensions of 14.5 x 11.6 x 1.26mm, and 18.46 x 18.1 x 1.3mm respectively, and a circular mode format with 128 x 128 pixel resolution and module dimensions of 36.98 x 41.23 x 2.05mm.

All modules are available in three colour mode options, blue on black, white on black and yellow on black. Optical performance ensures bright, clear and concise images with a contrast ratio of 2000:1 and a specified brightness rating of up to 180cd/m².

Viewing angles of 160 degree in both horizontal (left/right) and vertical (up/down) directions ensure the display image is easily visible from all viewing positions, says Midas Displays. Half-brightness lifetime is specified as up to 50k hours (depending on colour mode).

The micro OLED modules feature I²C, three/four wire SPI and eight-bit 6800/8080-series parallel data interfaces and support 3.0V logic operation. The modules are compatible with the industry-standard SSD1306BZ graphics controller. Tape automated bonding (TAB) construction is used in the manufacture of the OLED modules. Operating and storage temperature range is -40 to +80 degree C which

All of the micro and round OLED display modules announced today are available from Midas Displays’ sales channel partners and franchised distributors.
