Digi-Key ships Acconeer 3D PCR sensors

Following a distribution agreement with Acconeer, Digi-Key will ship its A1 SRD radar sensors.

The A1 radar sensor is based on a patented technology enabling mm accuracy with very low power consumption. The sensor is based on pulsed coherent radar (PCR) technology, which provides high range resolution while only consuming micro watts of power, claims the distributor. It also enables the sensor to be integrated into other devices, expanding its potential applications. A1 radar sensor attributes include accuracy, low current consumption, motion and gestures, material identification, and easy integration, adds Digi-Key.

Acconeer’s 3D sensor technology creates possibilities in a range of applications for multiple industries, including robots and drones, mobile and wearables, IoT, power tools and industrial, healthcare and fitness, and automotive.

Key characteristics are mm accuracy and continuous  measurements up to 1500Hz. It is also able to distinguish between materials with different dielectric constant.

The sensor is robust, and not compromised by any natural source of interference such as noise, dust, colour, direct or indirect light

Acconeer is a radar sensor company based in Lund, south Sweden. It has developed a low power, high precision 3D sensor for applications ranging from virtual reality and gaming to security and robot control.
