Renesas embraces Microsoft Visual Studio Code across its entire MCU and MPU lineup
Renesas Electronics Corporation has announced that customers can now use Microsoft® Visual Studio Code (VS Code) to program the complete line of Renesas microcontrollers (MCUs) and microprocessors (MPUs). Renesas has added tool extensions for all of its embedded processors to the Microsoft VS Code website, enabling a huge base of designers comfortable with the popular Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and code editor to work in their preferred environment.
Infineon claims 1Mbit automotive-qualified serial F-RAM is an industry first
Infineon claims to offer the industry’s first 1Mbit automotive-qualified serial F-RAM. It has introduced two ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) devices in 1Mbit and 4Mbit densities. The 1Mbit (CY15B201QN-50SXE) and 4Mbit (CY15B204QN-40SXE) are intended to meet demand for specialised data logging memories that instantly capture and reliably store critical data for decades and which are used in automotive event data recorders (EDRs).
Monolithic full bridge autoresonant transmitter IC simplifies wireless battery charger design
The use of batteries in everyday devices is getting more ubiquitous. In many of these products, a charging connector is difficult or impossible to use. For example, some products require sealed enclosures to protect sensitive electronics from harsh environments and enable convenient cleaning or sterilisation. Other products may simply be too small to include a connector, and in products where the battery-powered application includes movement or rotation, forget about charging with wires. Wireless charging adds value, reliability, and robustness in these and other applications.
