For the Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS, QuickLogic has released the Always-on Context Aware Sensor Hub CSSP (Customer Specific Standard Product). It has Sensor Platform’s FreeMotion sensor fusion and context awareness library which is optimised for smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices.
Wearable
Analogue and mixed-signal devices make up wearable portfolio
Current sensors, audio amplifiers, op amps, analogue switches, and battery gas gauges from STMicroelectronics are designed to be a set of building blocks for wearable applications. Examples of devices suitable for wearable applications include the single, dual, and quad op amps, such as the OA4NP33 quad low-power op amp, that offer a low-power typical consumption of just 580nA/channel (at 1.8V power supply), suitable for functions such as sensor signal-conditioning in battery-operated wearable devices.
GNSS antenna supports satellites
The CAM-M8Q GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/QZSS antenna module integrates a u-blox M8 satellite receiver IC, SAW filter, LNA, TCXO, RTC, passives and a pre-tuned GNSS chip antenna. The surface mount device measures just 9.6x14x1.95mm, and offers high-sensitivity, high jamming immunity and concurrent GNSS operation (GPS/GLONASS, GPS/BeiDou, or GLONASS/BeiDou) for accurate satellite positioning anywhere in the world, claims u-blox.
Module is claimed to be world’s smallest Bluetooth Smart
Designed for the Bluetooth 4.0 low energy (LE) specification, or Bluetooth Smart, the SESUB-PAN-T2541 Bluetooth 4.0 LE module is claimed to be the world’s smallest module. The footprint is 4.6×5.6x1mm.
