Low voltage CMOS clock oscillators meet battery life demands
IQD has launched a range of low voltage complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) -based clock oscillators available at 0.9, 1.2 and 1.5V. The IXO-691 series oscillators are suitable for use in designs where improved battery life is critical including body cameras for security services, digital cameras, personal navigation devices (PND), portable audio players, portable test equipment, universal serial bus (USB) interface, wide local area network (WLAN) and wearable devices.
Maxim’s PMICs halve size of hearing wearables
Two power management integrated circuits (PMICs) from Maxim Integrated deliver low standby power to hearing wearable devices (hearables). They also, claims the company, offer high efficiency at less than half the size of alternatives currently available.
Maxim’s nanoPower boost regulator claims industry’s longest battery life
Maxim’s nanoPower boost regulator claims industry’s longest battery life: Claiming the industry’s longest battery life and the smallest form factor for use in wearable and consumer IoT designs, the MAX17222, from Maxim features 300nA IQ and 95 per cent peak efficiency. It reduces solution size by up to 50 per cent, adds the company.
The MAX17222 nanoPower boost regulator from Maxim Integrated Products, has quiescent current (IQ) of only 300nA. The 0.4 to 5.5V input, 1.8 to 5.0V output boost regulator has 500mA input current limit, and reduces solution size by up to 50 per cent compared to similar products, claims the company, and offers 95 per cent peak efficiency to minimise heat dissipation. The resulting benefits make the nanoPower boost regulator suitable for wearable devices.
