Watch protects with fall detection
Motorola partner, eBuyNow eCommerce has updated the moto watch 100, which is claimed to be the most affordable smart watch. It now features fall detection technology that monitors and protects vulnerable wearers.
In addition to fall detection, the moto watch 100 includes emergency alerts, heart rate monitoring, SPO2 oxygen saturation alerts and daily updates for family members or carers. The moto watch 100 also tracks health and fitness to measure, compare and share fitness goals.
As increasing numbers of people over the age of 65 live at home alone with no partner or assistance, children concerned about their parents’ well-being and long-term health may use the moto watch 100 to track relatives and communicate in real time with their family member. For example, senior falls are the primary cause of at-home injury while heart disease is the leading cause of at-home death. Monitoring can also tackle chronic sleep conditions, such as sleep apnea, which increase the risk of heart failure by 140 per cent and feelings of isolation and loneliness by communicating in real time with family members.
Equipped with the new Moto OS (operating system), the moto watch 100 lets users track biorhythms, has a heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, step counting, weight tracking, blood oxygen levels, and 28 different sport modes. It is also equipped with a battery boosting OS, for a long battery life of up to two weeks of full-time use from a 60 minute charge. It is also water resistant at 5ATM (up to 50m depths).
The watch measures, compares, and shares personal fitness and health goals, for sharing – and challenging – others in a group. Message sent from the Moto Watch app is received on the watch, for the user to respond with “confirmed” or “rejected”.
“The family sharing software we are releasing on our moto watch 100 enables users to protect, connect, and communicate with loved ones to monitor them on a daily basis,” said Craig Smith, CEO at eBuyNow. “This long term strategic partnership we are announcing with BellPal brings new and critical features to moto watch users, including fall detection, heart rate monitoring, and SPo2 monitoring for family members that need some extra care.”
The watch has a sleek design, with an aluminium case, silicone band and circular LCD display.
