High-speed rail-to-rail comparator saves space
Contained in a footprint that is less than 1.0mm2, the TS985 comparator combines battery-friendly micropower performance with enhanced dynamic range and high speed, claims STMicroelectronics.
The 0.8 x 1.2 x 0.52mm chip-scale package (CSP) makes the device suitable for space-constrained applications such as smartphones, smartwatches, digital cameras, IoT devices, and portable test equipment.
The device operates from a supply voltage as low as 1.8V, for use in systems powered from a single cell or those designed to operate from low voltages. Typical operating current of 14microA also helps minimise drain on the battery. Typical propagation delay of 300ns ensures rapid response to fast-changing analogue signals. It has high ESD tolerance of 2kV HBM / 200V MM.
