Sensor hubs is low power to extend battery life
At just 75uW (68µA at 1.1V) active power consumption, the ArcticLink 3 S2 LP sensor hub from QuickLogic is the lowest power programmable sensor hub on the market, claims the company.
Used with the company’s SenseMe algorithm library and reference designs, it can be used by designers to add more features and capabilities and extend the battery life of smartphone and wearable devices.
The sensor hub reduces the power requirements on the host system by almost 50% when compared to the standard S2, and is claimed to consume significantly less power than competing MCU-based sensor hub solutions. As well as the library of sensor algorithms, it supports OEM-developed and third-party algorithms to add many more features and capabilities to consumer devices.
