TCXO is small enough for wearables
With a small footprint, the SiT1552 32kHz MEMS TCXO is supplied in a package that measures 1.5 x 0.8mm in a CSP.
The size and power consumption (typically less than 1µA) enables a “paradigm shift in the size and battery life f wearable electronics and IoT”, says the company.
It uses the company’s TempFlat MEMS and analog technology, to create a TCXO that is 20% of the size and consumes 50% of the power of comparable quartz devices, for system architectures that offer higher performance, small size and longer battery life, claims the company.
Operating from 1.5 to 3.63V, the TCXO can be used for products that use a coin-cell or super-cap battery backup.
It can perform a reference for real time clock (RTC) function and a sleep clock for connectivity, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, WiFi. There is also a heartbeat clock for battery supervisory function.
Start-up time is typically less than 0.3ms. MTBF is 15million hours.
