Solar powered Bluetooth headset offers hands-free with no recharging

At this week’s CES in Las Vegas, Blue Tiger USA will show what it claims is the world’s first solar powered headset. The Solare headset harvests light from any source – indoor or outdoor – for continuous use without the need to ever recharge a battery, says the company.

The military grade (Mil-Std-810) Bluetooth headset combines patented solar technology to convert light into energy for virtually unlimited use without recharging. The Bluetooth 5.1 technology offers an extended operating range of 300m.

The headset has 97 per cent noise cancellation technology and is powered by a flexible solar cell for seamless driving and work communications, says Blue Tiger USA. Solare continuously self-charges when exposed to indoor or outdoor light via patented Powerfoyle solar technology. This nano material transforms any outdoor and indoor natural or artificial light into clean, endless energy, explained the company. Inspired by the natural principle of photosynthesis to harvest light, Solare incorporates a thin, non-toxic, printed, flexible plastic solar cell with zero emissions production. It is also durable for comfortable long term use. The solar cell technology performs using light from a wide variety of angles and works equally with indoor or outdoor light.

Certified to Mil-Std-810, the headset is rugged and suitable for use in extreme environments. There is no need to recharge; it provides virtually unlimited use without the need to recharge and limitless talk time, added the company.

Operating temperature range is 4.0 to 50 degrees C and the headset is water resistant to IPX4.

The design integrates a flexible headband which is durable and comfortable for extended periods of use.

The Solare will be available for pre-order March 2022 and shipping will begin in April.

Founded in 2009, Blue Tiger USA, manufactures over-the-head Bluetooth headsets and accessories designed specifically for professional drivers. The company’s mission is “to help professionals live safer and happier lives while traveling on the road.”

CES runs from 5 to 7 January as a hybrid (virtual and real life in Las Vegas) event this year. Blue Tiger will be exhibiting at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Las Vegas during CES 2022.
